Although all of this was happening, Junior was a solider through all of this stuff. ![]() The end of the book had a lot of deaths, drama and miscommunication. Sherman Alexie did well on a lot of things, but there are some things he/she should work on.Ī lot of different parts of this book can be appreciated by Sherman Alexie. The book mainly focuses on all the bad things that happened to Junior, and it seems as if their only picking on the reservation. This shows that Sherman Alexie should, make the book seem more about Junior’s accomplishments. In the text it states, “Okay Arnold, dodge said, where did you learn this fact? On the reservation? Yes well all knows there is so much amazing science on the reservation, my classmates snickered they pointed fingers and giggled (pg.85)”. The author in this book did a lot of things that majority people would enjoy in this book, but there are some things Sherman Alexie can defiantly work on. In the book “The Absolutely True Diary Of a Part Time Indian” the author taught numerous lessons. The author showed the readers numerous morals and lessons to take to real life and become a better person. Junior soon realized that he had friends after all, he just had to find them. This shows that when people where degrading him he didn’t let them stop him instead he developed something more inside himself to find “hope”. Somewhere on the road to Reardan I became something less than an Indian (pg.83)”. ![]() In the text it says, “Zitty and lonely, I woke up on the reservation as an Indian. If a person was to read this they may have thought this because, the criticism motivates you to want to become a better person. The author Sherman Alexie relayed a message of, being judged turns out into you growing as a better person. and his best friend Rowdy always dreaming of being together forever. There was a Native American named Arnold Spirit J.R. This story will begin to reveal a shorter story of this part time Native American. They did almost everything together until, something happened. Junior also had a best friend named Rowdy. He had dreams of becoming something more than an unknown reservation kid who was poor and untalented. In the book “The Absolutely True Diary of- A Part Time Indian”, Junior was a 14 year old 9th grader, Native American. Rowdy did not have a valid reason to leave like that, as I remind you they were friends for longer than 4 years and he owed him an explanation for having left him like that. Like in the chapter when junior left Rowdy it should have been more words and he could have explained it more than he did because he did not have to leave his Best friend like that. As a reader their should have been less pictures and more words because when you are reading a good book it should have more words than pictures to deeper explain it and to make to story make more sense. One of the bad decisions that he made was when he put so many pictures. In the book “Diary Of A Part Time Indian” the author made some pretty poor decisions. The reader wanted to know more about whether those two were going to become friends and or make up. Like when Rowdy and Junior had a problem with each other because junior was about to Leave the Indian school to go to an white school. The author makes the reader want to know more with every word they read. One of the things that readers could really understand and like was when he put “why chicken means so much to me “(pg. The author told the reader things in the book and based it off of his life, but while he did that he made the story for kids of age to read and understand. In the book “Diary Of A Part Time Indian” the author Sherman Alexie made the story feel like real life to most of the readers. But some of the things Sherman Alexie could have did better was just put less pictures because he could have put more words for the reader to enjoy. The author made the reader feel for the characters. The author makes the story very interesting and really makes the story inside a child’s perspective. Junior’s mom is a teacher and she also use to be a drunk. Junior’s dad is a drunk who likes to play jazz music. The book “Diary of a Part Time Indian” is about a boy named Junior who has problems with his brain and he also has problems with his family.
